Make consistent bubble vases on the pottery wheel with a simple plastic rib. Apply it to the outside of the pot after you've pulled your walls, gently applying pressure from the inside of the pot to form the clay into the curvy, bulbous shape of the rib. The opposite end has a big, gradual curve for doing inset/concave swoops on the outside of pots, or for the insides of plates and vases.

The edges of the rib have a gentle slope to help press the clay into the surface, creating a stronger pot than if excess material had been scraped off the surface.

Small size (3 scoops) is 4.25" tall and a bit over 2" wide. Easy to grip with moderate stiffness.

Large size (5 scoops) is about 7.5" tall and 2.5" wide with deeper recesses. It has a moderate stiffness as well, but feels a bit easier to bend as a result of its size.

Note: Price is for one rib. Please choose your size preference in the dropdown.

Products are made with a renewable bioplastic called PLA. It's made from starches instead of fossil fuels, making it more ecologically considerate, but it doesn't tolerate high temperatures or exposure to UV well. To ensure your tools last for a long time, avoid leaving them in a hot car or out in the sun.
