Face Mugging with Emily Adams | Face Mug Pottery Workshop

Some mugs hold your coffee. Others look like they're about to tell you exactly what's wrong with your life.

Come make faces with Emily Adams of No Brainer Pottery in this hands-on face mug pottery workshop at The Clay Department in San Antonio, Texas.

You'll start with a pre-thrown ceramic cup and transform it into a one-of-a-kind face mug with its own personality. Emily will walk you through her techniques for sculpting and attaching three-dimensional facial features, including eyes, noses, mouths, and teeth, to bring your mug to life.

Go goofy, grumpy, weird, expressive, or somewhere in between. This is your chance to experiment with sculptural details and make a mug that looks like absolutely nobody else's.

No wheel experience is needed because your cup is already thrown for you. Just bring your imagination and embrace the imperfections. As Emily says, no perfect pots!
