Trimming Spinner

Spinner tool for trimming clay pots at the wheel. Contains a high quality sealed bearing that allows the top and bottom to spin freely with minimal friction. The optional base extender attaches magnetically to spread the pressure across a larger area.

I personally prefer this shape over flatter versions because it is more versatile. In addition to the usual single-finger on the top, this style allows you to hold it between your fingers against the top of a pot so you can stabilize your trimming tool with your thumb. It also works inside of a pot set upright, giving you a bit of extra reach to apply pressure to the bottom while you trim the rim.

The trimming spinner works great as-is, but if you would like a wider foot to spread the pressure across then the Base Extender is a great add-on. It connects to the spinner with with rare earth magnets (neodymium) so it's easy to swap on and off as needed. This is a good option if you tend to throw thin bottoms or wider pots where the center can get a bit delicate.

Products are made with a renewable bioplastic called PLA. It's made from starches instead of fossil fuels, making it more ecologically considerate, but it doesn't tolerate high temperatures or exposure to UV well. To ensure your tools last for a long time, avoid leaving them in a hot car or out in the sun.
